About the festival

What is Radha Ashtami?

Radha Ashtami celebrates the appearance day of Shri Radha Rani, the beloved of Lord Krishna, born in Barsana on the eighth day of the bright fortnight of Bhadrapada. It comes fifteen days after Janmashtami.

Devotees fast until noon, dress the deities in new clothes, offer flowers and sweets, sing bhajans and remember Radha as the embodiment of pure, selfless love. In Barsana, Vrindavan and temples around the world, the day is filled with colour, music and joy.

This little site is our way of spreading that joy. Create a wish and pass the blessing on.
